For the 8th year now, August will be dedicated to Archeology Month throughout Quebec.
Pointe-du-Buisson, Quebec’s archeology museum, will be introducing an array of activities so that the public – both young and old – will have a taste of archeological pleasures.
Recognised for its exceptional space consisting of 17 forest excavation sites, the Quebec archeology museum is offering two activities for sparking the interest and attention of curious individuals. One activity features the theme, Ici, on fouille! (Here, we dig!) which offers visitors the chance to do some excavating, dig into the soil, and discover objects relating to the past. A mystery unfolds in each excavation.
Still for archeology month, the museum will also introduce an activity to highlight fishing. Catfish, sturgeons and knights: a true history of fishing! will be hosted by Michelle Courtemanche, zoologist-archeologist. She will share her passion for pre-historical fishing with time travellers.
