Close to 500 people watched the fireworks at Marcel-Seers Park.
Châteauguay residents came out in large numbers over the long weekend to celebrate Canada Day.
In fact the celebrations, spread out over two days, were "a real success," according to Helmer Coffin, President of the Canada Day Corporation of Châteauguay.
The popular fireworks, held on Saturday, were seen by more than 800 people. While 500 spectators watched the fireworks at Marcel-Seers Park, there were 300 in attendance at Laberge Park as well as alongside the river.
R: The celebrations continued on Sunday at noon. About 2,000 people showed up during the day to enjoy various activities offered at Billings Park. Children were entertained by inflatable games, tattoos, make-up and a visit by a fire truck. In addition, celebrants enjoyed dancing and music throughout the afternoon. The evening began with the traditional cake in the colors of the Canadian flag followed by entertainment featuring such groups as Garage électrique, the Cranes and Thick as Thieves.For a full photo gallery visit www.chateauguayexpress.ca.
