The president of the Chamber of Commerce, Geneviève Chevrier, was happy to announce the new name and logo of the Beauharnois-Valleyfield Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The announcement was made during a press conference in the new hall of the Beauharnois Municipal Council. The new geographical limits are such that the areas covered by the Chamber have increased. The cities of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Beauharnois, St-Étienne de Beauharnois, St-Stanislas de Kostka and St-Louis de Gonzague shall now be served by the new Chamber.
Lise Malboeuf Cardinal, ex-official of the Chamber of Commerce said she was happy that her idea of enlarging the area covered by the Chamber of Commerce was finally accepted. The collaboration of the Beauharnois-Salaberry federal deputy, Anne Minh-Thu Quach, helped the project advance as it had been dragging for some time.
The completion of highway 30 will position Beauharnois and Salaberry-de-Valleyfield on the axis of intermodal transport. The Chamber of Commerce is delighted with major financial returns from this achievement.
